MacCPU Y2K/Millennium Countdown Clock for Macintosh
We now also have a French version

A few weeks ago Bob and I were doing a little shopping in Bed, Bath and Beyond, trying to find goofy little 'American' things to send to my friends and relatives in England for Christmas. They just love the little nonsenses that you can only buy in America.

We came across a $29 Millennium countdown clock that tells you just how many days, hours and seconds there are to the Millennium. Of course, because I also have a penchant for seemingly useless items that are different, we got one for me and it sits on top of my monitor.

Then Bob said "wouldn't it be nice to have a little software gizwingy for the Mac desktop? Who do we know who would write one for us?" Well immediately Bruce Horn came into mind. Bruce wrote the very first Finder for Apple and he came to MacCPU for a CPU upgrade last year and we had many interesting conversations about that Crazy Cupertino Fruit Company.

So I quickly emailed him and we struck a deal, and here it is for your enjoyment. Pop it into your Startup Items folder and it will be there to cheer you each morning when you boot up, and remind you where to go to buy your Macintosh CPU upgrades :)

NOTE: When you install the clock, if you pull down the Millennium menu you can set the Millennium clock to begin either January 1, 2000 or January 1, 2001.

Please feel free to download the MacCPU Y2K/Millennium clock, and enjoy, and pass it along to your Macintosh friends. See below for the French version.

The clock works everywhere because it adjusts itself according to the date and time set on your machine.

Fawzi Dormeyer
, a Mac software localizer from Montreal , the "official" translator for the french versions of FinderPop, CoolViews etc., has kindly done a french version of the clock for us.
Thank you, Fawzi.
